The Aerotrek A220 is the funnest plane I’ve ever owned. It’s very well-built and outperforms my 1993 180 HP Supercub in most areas. They both typically take-off and land in 250’-300’. The SC tops out at 105 mph TAS burning about 10 GPH and the Aerotrek at 125 mph TAS burning 6 GPH. Note- the Aerotrek burns about 4 GPH when jump putting along at 80 MPH or so. My 1220# SC has the 2,000 gross “3rd seat” STC so the useful load is 780#. My 673# A220 has a 1235 # gross, so useful load is 562#.

Not many people know this, but Moose Creek was named after a Moose. True story!

What a beautiful, cute, little airplane! Tho never flew in one, or piloted one, know about them..Dad was a pilot bef/aft. WW2, flew lots of paper-covered taildraggers as an instructor. Among them, Piper J3s and PA-11s..Also No.Amer. T6s, PT19s..A great friend of his had a seaplane base, Pt. Washington, LI, NY..There at the mooring was a PA11 on floats..straight LockHaven Yellow, w/ black lightning-bolt stripe..It just sat there. Built a Lindberg Line model of this little plane..Always was a fan of the J3 & PA11..! First time in the air, 1955, was in a Piper Tri-Pacer..unique, stubby airplane!!
